This art inspired bistro tablescape for 2 had me imagining a leisurely coffee date with a friend! How would you set up a friendly coffee date in your space?

I decided to switch it up this month and set a table for two outside! I have a small table outside of my kitchen that this morning coffee tablescape was born. Sure July could have easily been a red, white and blue theme – but why be basic when you can have all the colors?! I didn’t have any strong theme in mind when I started shopping my house but this vintage pink painting jumped out to me with all of it’s colors. Using the painting as my muse I dug around the house for whatever I could find that would tie in. The book, dried flowers (which I used in this tablescape earlier this year) and tea cups were immediate grabs! I was excited to use the yellow depression plates too. I love these plates but always have a hard time using them because they blend in with all of my chargers, placemats and linens. I thought I’d try them on this white quartz tabletop and see if I could make them pop.
This was a completely different set up than anything I’ve done before and it felt super fresh to pull together! I loved doing a 2 person tablescape!
With the size constraint I tried to keep it fancy but casual. I loved the silverware piled on the simply folded napkin topping the plates.
This bistro set is right off of my kitchen. I added the hooks several years ago as a solution to all of our pool towels. The sign was added as an anchor to the hooks, but it felt absolutely perfect for this morning coffee tablescape. Not to mention the hooks would be wonderful for purses and jackets!
Texture and life are a key with tablescapes! Look at all of the different textures above! The smooth tabletop, pressed glass, ornate easel, rough and matte vase all work together so richly.
This set up was truly SO fun to put together. I’m loving the challenge of putting together a monthly tablescape. It’s helping me stretch creatively and think outside of the box. This bistro set up provided a unique centerpiece challenge that I loved. It’s definitely making me consider doing a fancy coffee date sometime soon! Do you have a bistro set at your house? I just put this out last year but it hasn’t gotten a ton of use. I think I’ve just been using it wrong!
