Now that fall is here it’s holiday time!!!! I’ve not done many holiday-theme specific tablescapes this year so hold on to your hats because it’s coming! This Halloween tablescape was inspired by a handmade spider my son did in his art club. I utilized many of my go-to tricks, like using a blanket as the table linen, to create this look. Read on for all of the details!
My Instagram followers will recognize the wildflower bouquets I made a few weeks ago. (You can catch the reel of collecting and making them here.) I knew the goldenrod had the right vibes for this tablescape! I also refound these antique Wedgewood plates (which belonged to my great-great grandparents). I don’t typically use them because of the amount of crazing (crackle) and because it is an incomplete set. The pattern and age were just simple too perfect for this look though.
I always recommending mixing and matching some element of your table if you can. It adds just the right amount of interest! These silver goblets have fabulous detailing. I purposefully did not polish them because the patina felt right for the overall vibe of the tablescape.
The star of the Halloween tablescape is the spider centerpiece. My 5th grader made it last year in his art club! You could easily use a store bought spider in it’s place though. To create the look I took a silver candlestick and draped it with black Halloween cloth. Then I simply placed the spider on top! The wildflower bouquets were adding to each side for color, texture and a bit of life on the table. (To read why those elements are important click over to this post!)
Forever using the silver chargers and layering up my place settings.
We have a huge amount of these skeleton hands from our Funny Bones Comedy Club set up. I grabbed just a few to add to the table. Hands are holding onto each candlestick.
On a budget and out of ideas? Grab colored candlesticks for instant style!
The tealight holders are crystal (the complete set of 6 was thrifted for $3). It’s hard to really capture how they make the candlelight dance across the table, but it is absolutely dreamy.
Nearly every month I say ‘this is my favorite!’. I won’t say that this month but I will say that it IS my favorite Halloween tablescape that I’ve ever done! (Click here to see one of my very early tablescapes! I see lots of little beginnings in that post! <3) The tablescape workshop has stretched me so much this year creatively and it’s been SO fun! Will you be setting a Halloween table this month?
