Is it me or did October FLY by?! It was one blur of a month with one activity after another. I nearly didn’t do any fall front porch decor but my husband is a fall lover and knew he would appreciate the nod to the season. I co-hosted a sweet little baby sprinkle at my house the first weekend of October that was a ‘Little Pumpkin’ theme so that also prompted me to make sure the front of our house was tidy and welcoming.
I used the Simple Fall Wreath DIY that I shared last time (click over for the full tutorial) as a starting point for my fall front porch decor. After swapping various things in and out I decided the wreath needed a little something extra. Not wanting to reach for a standard bow I simply looped this vintage tassel onto the wreath hanger, I immediately loved the look of it and now can’t imagine the wreath without it.
I am still loving the layered doormat trend. I swapped the under mat to this black and white buffalo check one that feels more fall to me. The rug is from Hobby Lobby last year but I think it’s still in stores right now. You can find it online here.
The weather in KC stayed hot for so long that my potato vine was still going strong. I picked up my mums pretty early on with the intention of repotting my summer pots with them but in the end I just tucked the mums in with the vine because I couldn’t bring myself to pull the vine out!
Give me all the potato vine, I’m obsessed.
The other addition to our fall front porch is this beautiful pot. My mother in law and 2 sister in laws have begun attending a local nursery for their seasonal potting days. I never thought I could make fun container pots but now I get it (and it’s beyond easy). The berries didn’t fair as well as I’d hoped but otherwise the pot is still going strong.
My fall front porch decor is pretty simple but it’s getting the job done! Do you go all out with your fall porch decor or do you prefer to keep it more minimal?
