If you love fall but aren’t into the warm oranges that surround the season than this simple fall wreath diy is for you!
I’ve had a hard time pulling my fall decor out this year. The weather here in KC has went straight from the 90’s to snow (where did fall go?!) but I’ve also figured out that I’m not into a lot of fall orange this year. My house already leans very ‘warm’ with the terracotta wallpapered entry and dining room so adding more to that often feels like just too much. When I took down my summer wreath this year I wasn’t ready for the big, full fall wreathes I’ve done in the past, so I knew it was time for me to come up with something more simple and with less in-your-face color. Remember the DIY boxwood wreath I made this spring? I realized I needed a fall version of the boxwood wreath, so let’s jump into this neutral, white loving fall wreath tutorial!
I hit Hobby Lobby and went through their fall picks and floral’s. I ended up finding these velvet wrapped pumpkins, white berries, and the single white pumpkins in their seasonal flowers. I spent $14 on the various picks and ended up with several left over I could use for other projects.
To make this fall wreath you will need:
- Plain wreath or DIY Boxwood Wreath (See link for supply list)
- Single Pumpkin stems
- Smaller pumpkin stems
- Berry Picks
First of all pull apart the berries into stems and pull the smaller pumpkins off so they are separated.
Next lay out your wreath and then place your largest pumpkins on the wreath. I bought 3 of these but then ended up only using one. I may go back later and add another one but at the time I wasn’t sure if I’d add a ribbon or not.
Next add the smaller pumpkins to the wreath. These do not need to be attached with glue because you can wrap the wire stems to the back of the wreath.
You can see how I stuck the picks into the wire form and then bent them around the existing frame. This allows for the picks to be removed and for me to reuse the wreath for other seasons.
Now is the time to fill in the gaps and give this wreath the final touch by rounding it out with berries.
And TA-DA, a simple wreath that is festive and full!
I ended up adding a small little touch to the wreath when I put together my front porch so check back to see the full reveal next week!
